Counselling & Support Groups

Butterfly Support Network connects individuals navigating pregnancy loss, infant loss, infertility, or reproductive fertility treatments with registered clinical counsellors in BC who bring both professional expertise and lived experience of this unique and complex grief. We offer up to five counselling sessions per family at no cost or low cost. To request counselling, please complete our intake form (linked here) and our team will follow up with next steps.

We also offer free, counsellor-led support groups, available both virtually and in person. Our current groups include:

Virtual support groups for:

Infertility and fertility treatments (including IVF)
Perinatal loss
Pregnancy after loss
Termination for medical reasons (TFMR)

In-person support groups for:

These groups are offered monthly and are currently available in Vancouver, Nanaimo, Comox, and Kelowna, with virtual options open to participants across BC. To join a counsellor-led group, please complete our intake form to receive upcoming dates and registration details.

In addition, Butterfly Support Network hosts free peer-led support groups and community gatherings throughout the year. These spaces provide opportunities to connect with others who have shared similar experiences and to find understanding through lived experience.
